Three months after 9/11, the story of AMNESIA had its start. A simple concept: a man wakes up with amnesia after some cataclysmic event happens. This man can only remember his name and that his family is in danger.
I believed then, and still believe that The Allan Carter Saga (AMNESIA, THEM and 11th Hour) are three of the most important projects I have/will ever produce. I believe this because the three-film saga redefines independent films by:
Being neither art films nor genre films. The Allan Carter Saga films reside in dangerous middle.
Being entertaining to a mainstream audience, but also standing up and asking controversial questions in the process.
Being high concept stories with special effects, while still resembling small personal films with a focus on characters.
Because the films redefine what youd normally expect from an independent film, I predict that they will permanently influence future films and filmmakers and prove that any story is possible.
